Eligibility

Which emergency responders are eligible?

Eligible emergency medical responders

Emergency response and emergency medical personnel who provide on-scene emergency medical treatment and transport are eligible for FirstNet.

Eligible job titles include, but are not limited to:

  • Emergency or advanced emergency medical technician (EMS/EMT)
  • Flight paramedic
  • Emergency responders like ski patrollers who are Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certified
First response EMS working inside an ambulance

Eligible ambulance agencies

Government, commercial, private and volunteer ambulance services (ground or air) with one or more of the following BLS certifications are eligible for FirstNet: 

  • Basic Life Support 
  • Advanced Life Support (1 and 2) 
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support 
  • Specialty Care Transport 
  • Paramedic Intercept 

Eligible job titles include, but are not limited to:

  • EMS pilot (air ambulance pilots)
  • EMS driver (EMS vehicle operator)
  • EMS dispatch

Eligible firefighter and police EMT

Firefighter and police personnel who provide emergency medical services as part of their public safety responsibilities are eligible for FirstNet.

Eligible job titles include, but are not limited to:

  • EMS firefighter
  • EMS police
